摘要: 1. A method for making two-dimensional measurements of colchicinized metaphase chromosomes was applied to six avian species and one interfamilial hybrid the subclass Carinatae: canary (Serinus canarius, 2n=80±), parakeet (Melopsittacus undulatus, 2n=58±), pigeon (Columba livia domestica, 2n= 80±), turkey-pheasant (♂ Meleagris gallopavo × ♀ Phasianus colchicus, Japanese quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica, 2n=78 ±), jungle fowl Java (Gallus gallus bankivo, duck (Anas platyrhyncha 2n=80 ±). 2. In these representing five different orders diverse geographic origin, total chromosome area varied only from 62.42 μ2 in 67.95 parakeet. 3. The absolute size Z-chromosome equally uniform, ranging 2.3 3.0 canary. A W-chromosome two-thirds as large Z noted female pigeon; thus sex constitution heterogametic all is probably ZW, not ZO. 4. Class Aves, Carinatae, constitutes an independently uniform class with regard Z-chromosome.
