摘要: Clinical, radiographic, and scintigraphic results of 33 consecutive unicompartmental knee arthroplasties were reviewed after a mean follow-up period 68 months (range, 24 to 112 months). Clinical grades employing criteria established by the Hospital for Special Surgery showed 74% good excellent 11% fair poor results. Four knees (15%) required revision total arthroplasty an average postoperative interval 7.4 years. Within subset surviving medial compartment (23 knees), superior clinical associated with central or slightly medialized mechanical axis (p < 0.05). Periprosthetic radiolucency no correlation scores failures resulting in surgery. There was radiographic evidence progressive arthrosis within unreplaced compartments. Comparative analysis preoperative annual technetium bone scans temporally related changes indicative impending prosthetic failure disease progression unoperated The surgically treated compartments maintained uniformly intense femorotibial activity, whereas compartments, including patellofemoral joint, remained scintigraphically quiescent. Disease is unusual contemporary arthroplasty. Most arise from inadequacies amendable surgical technique and/or future design considerations.
