摘要: There is a need to reduce the emissions of country as whole, limit risk climate change due Global warming and meet targets set by Kyoto agreement Climate Change Act. The large number houses constructed annually in England Wales have an important role play this. By reducing emissions, resulting from both manufacture construction materials energy used house occupants, housing can help achieve necessary reductions. Alternative methods contribute this, either having lower embodied or demonstrating good thermal properties heat loss hence operational energy. However, it essential that industry public accept alternative for them be economically viable. In addition, there should no performance result using methods. Six were studied depth, including generating requirements identifying their terms airtightness, wall thickness, fire resistance. Public acceptability examined use questionnaires. A comparison data collected showed best, optimal, option visually challenging task single method best all areas. methodology was created aid selection method. capable examining multiple variables, this work demonstrated with front building dimension. To identify optimal method, optimisation genetic algorithms used. Use case study based on most frequently type Wales. importance weighting weightings concerns held different parties. It found minimising external area gives solution less material needed opportunity loss. For situation study, Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) identified potential environmental impact without impacting saleability performance.
