摘要: The thesis for the epistemic indispensability of scientific metaphor has no shortage proponents.1 Scientific metaphors are linked to concept formation,2 explanation,3 theoretical confirmation,4 and models.5 All these proclamations assume a linguistic conception theory, which focuses on systems statements as product inquiry. Yet few advocates explicitly address metaphor’s value from problem solving orientation science. view that inquiry reduces formulation resolution problems avoids artificial rigid picture suggested by science, at least according many philosophers.6 But in what respects, if any, is structure indispensably metaphoric? To my knowledge advocate addresses this question detail.
