摘要: Modification of the herpes simplex virus type 1 major DNA-binding protein (ICP8) with reagents and conditions specific for arginine, lysine, tyrosine residues indicates that surface lysine are required interaction this single-stranded DNA. either these two amino acids resulted in a loss and/or modification binding activity as judged by nitrocellulose filter assays gel shift. arginine did not affect within limits used. Finally, quenching intrinsic tryptophan fluorescence ICP8 presence DNA suggests involvement acid reaction or reflects conformational change upon binding.
