摘要: Carotenoids are essential components of the photosynthetic apparatus involved in plant photoprotection. To investigate protective role zeaxanthin and xanthophyll cycle under high-light stress, we increased capacity for their biosynthesis Eustoma grandiflorum Shinn by overexpression a gene (AtchyB) from Arabidopsis thaliana encoding β-carotene hydroxylase (BCH). This enzyme is conversion into plays an important carotenoid biosynthetic pathway. Not only was total content transgenics enhanced (1.046- to 3.141-fold) but also faster compound produced larger quantities (up 3.344-fold) than controls upon exposure stress. Additionally, greater amount pigments (1.46- 2.44-fold) detected transgenics. Under untransformed showed obvious growth retardation, while transformants were more tolerant. The net addition biomass that non-transformants exposure. Furthermore, new phenomenon found: stress induced apparent periodical accumulation transformants. Our results supplement data previous research, indicate periodic enhancement formation together with enlargement pool contributes long-term protection prevents damage.
