摘要: The use of the synchronous induction method enables both assessment sequence and reliability appearance morphologic signs vitamin A deficiency, their accurate correlation with biochemical physiologic abnormalities. In trachea, hyperplasia basal epithelial cells was observed by Day 4 (T4) following withdrawal retinoic acid from retinoate-cycled, stringently deficient rats. Keratinization 6, upper part trachea showing highest incidence keratinization. All such metaplastic changes originated in narrow strip tissue directly cojoining esophagus. submaxillary glands, atrophy acini, an increase interlobular spaces, fibrosis dilatation ducts 10. more advanced stages deficiency (T14-T18), cyst formation associated suppuration extensive cell observed. Morphologic were less marked sublingual although mucin levels noticeably depressed 12 deficiency. Following oral dosing animals (T12) 350 micrograms retinyl palmitate, all reversed within 6 days 10 glands. Similar patterns whether force-fed or fed ad libitum. Apart, therefore, cause-effect considerations per se, are also potentially valuable reference indicators particularly time course studies, where force-feeding attenuates other
