摘要: We develop a model to enable engineering professional services firms improve the management of their competitive resources, i.e., skilled engineers, be better able respond customer demand. The was informed by semistructured interviews with senior executives from engineering, information technology (IT) and technical consulting firms. As result, we capture many complexities associated resource planning process in sector. In resulting model, key attributes supply, demand, operations constraints are identified. Based on obtained interviews, number test created. then use these study impact various policies firm performance. These include skill mix profile employees, limits concurrent projects which an employee can assigned, governing cross-training hiring. is evaluated terms business metrics, such as project completion rate net revenue. Finally, our extended multiphase rolling horizon, where may span multiple phases goal ensuring consistency assignment projects.
