摘要: Vertigo, dizziness and imbalance are the main symptoms of vestibular disorders. They can lead to physical consequences, such as reduced postural control falls, psychologic/psychiatric anxiety-depression symptoms, panic agoraphobia, cognitive defects, especially in elderly. Consequently, general health status quality life (QoL) patients be significantly impaired. Several questionnaires have been developed an attempt quantify degree handicap disability, self-perceived with imbalance. Additionally, goal treatments disorders should reduce functional disability improve patients' QoL. This article reviews psychological consequences disorders, their impact on QoL, treatment options, including drug prescriptions rehabilitation protocols. A profile compound betahistine its efficacy QoL indices Meniere's disease other forms peripheral vertigo is also presented.
