摘要: Voltage-sensitive dyes can be used to image cortical network function with millisecond temporal resolution and a horizontal spatial of approximately 50 µm. This imaging technique combined whole-cell patch-clamp measurement membrane potential followed by the anatomical analysis neuronal morphology. Together, such experiments reveal relationship activity recorded in individual identified neurons spatiotemporally resolved ensemble dynamics region. Application these techniques rodent barrel cortex has advanced our understanding synaptic mechanisms underlying sensory responses simple whisker stimuli.
