摘要: Anti-eukaryotic topoisomerase drugs, Camptothecin and Etoposide, were tested for their ability of selectively interfering with the replication simian virus 40 (SV40) DNA. Nalidixic acid was also assayed a comparison, since compound has been previously reported to affect papoyavirus growth. Our results indicate that anti-eukaryotic drugs significantly inhibit viral DNA but at concentrations are toxic uninfected cells. Etoposide treatment produced relatively higher number DNA-protein cross-links in virus-infected cells as compared control displayed some degree selectivity inhibiting SV40 synthesis more effectively than cellular without appreciable reduction cell This activity does not appear depend on damage or interference II deserves further evaluation.
