Rehabilitation efforts for Atlantic Salmon in the Meuse basin area : Synthesis 1983-1998

摘要: In the 1950s, Atlantic salmon had become extinct in river Meuse basin, mainly owing to construction of navigation weirs. 1987 started a rehabilitation program Belgium. Stockings are being performed six tributaries Meuse, using eyed eggs, parr and pre-smolts obtained from foreign eggs reared hatchery `Service de la Peche'. By end 1998, 896033 young have been released wild, especially Ourthe basin. most cases, evaluation stocking operations indicates good adaptation where they stocked, with autumnal 0+ densities up 20–30 ind 100 m-2.
