Perceptual remediation in patients with right brain damage: a comprehensive program.

摘要: This study provided a comprehensive program to treat visual perceptual disturbances associated with right brain damage (RBD). Three types of previously evaluated remediation were integrated into sequentially administered program: basic scanning, somatosensory awareness and size estimation training, complex organization. The purpose the was evaluate immediate (at rehabilitation discharge) long-term (four months after effects this treatment on patients RBD. ADL mood state also examined. Seventy-seven RBD stroke inpatients studied--including 48 Experimental (E) 29 Control (C). At discharge, E group relative C showed greater gains in all three functioning. Four discharge from rehabilitation, continued show functioning while had reached plateau. Longitudinal decreases levels self-reported anxiety hostility, but not depression, noted only for group.
