摘要: This contribution describes the setup and operating procedures of first operational laser ablation microprobe for stable (sulphur) isotope analysis in Australia as well some brief geological applications. A significant feature on this is automated gas purification analysis; operator control only required to locate ablate sample targets. As with other laboratories, samples were ablated an oxygen atmosphere, producing a SO2/O2 mixture. SO2 was separated from mixture by either two techniques. In technique, condensed into liquid N2 trap cryogenic pumping, O2 pumped away. resulted collection 60–70% produced SO2. second slowly bled technique collected 90–95% SO2, small fractionation 0.16%.
