Preparation and characterisation of pigmented UV curable coating based on cresol novalac epoxy acrylate resins

摘要: UV curable systems have found wide applications in clear coatings. However, coatings containing pigment showed a degree of curing inhibition due to the absorption, scattering and reflection radiation caused by presence pigments coating film. This results poor through‐cure consequently adhesion. Thus, used should not absorb same region as photo‐initiators. One solutions such problem, reported this paper, was develop more reactive, alcohol soluble, non‐heat low molecular weight cresol based, pigmented novolac epoxy acrylate systems, which lower absorption region. In addition, effects several photoinitiators having longer wavelength spectrum were investigated.
