摘要: Background Personal protective equipment (PPE) is a primary strategy to protect health care personnel (HCP) from infectious diseases. When transmission-based PPE ensembles are not appropriate, HCP must recognize the transmission pathway of disease and anticipate exposures select PPE. Because guidance for this process extremely limited, we proposed systematic, risk-based approach selection evaluation against Methods The used in study included following 4 steps: (1) job hazard analysis, (2) (3) PPE, (4) selected Selected should exposure, be usable by HCP, fit purpose. Results was demonstrated activity intubation patient with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus or Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus. As expected, led different these 2 pathogens. Discussion A systematic will help facilities when precautions appropriate. Owing complexity ensemble evaluation, team expertise diseases, occupational health, activity, related disciplines, such as human factors, engaged. Conclusions Participation, documentation, transparency necessary ensure decisions can communicated, critiqued, understood HCP.
