摘要: Osteoporosis has been linked with arteriosclerotic vascular diseases, suggesting that hypercholesterolemia or dyslipidemia may be a common pathogenetic factor underlying these diseases. However, little is known about the relationship between osteoporosis and hypercholesterolemia. The purpose of this study was, therefore, to investigate effects upon bone metabolism, by measuring turnover markers in hypercholesterolemic patients. This included 281 Japanese patients hypercholesterolemia, 267 control subjects. Serum bone-specific alkaline phosphatase (BAP) was significantly higher than controls women. N-terminal telopeptide type I collagen (NTx) both men In addition, BAP NTx showed negative correlation high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). On other hand, women, positive total low (LDL-C). These results indicate increased dyslipidemic regardless gender, suggest importance treating order prevent not only complications but also osteoporotic loss subsequent fractures.
