Presence and treatment of vascular risk factors in patients with vascular cognitive impairment.

摘要: Objective: To document the presence and treatment of selected vascular risk factors in patients with cognitive impairment elements affecting undertreatment factors. Design: Secondary analysis Canadian Study Health Aging database, which is a national, representative, cross-sectional study epidemiologic distribution dementia elderly people Canada. Setting: Survey. Patients: Institutionalized community-dwelling people. Main Outcome Measures: Vascular factors, diagnosed by standard methods, medication use. Results: Treatable occurred significantly more often (with without dementia) than probable Alzheimer disease or normal function. For example, 76% 57% those had history stroke, compared only 5% 7% no loss. (For hypertension, comparable figures are 55%, 48%, 24%, 38%, respectively.) Potential little effect on mean control (±SD) systolic blood pressure being treated was 144±26 mm Hg, 142±25 Hg not receiving pharmacological treatment. In each group (treated vs untreated), proportion higher 160 20% 16%, respectively. most severe living nursing homes. Conclusions: commonly other patients, including forms dementia.
