Guided tissue regeneration ensures osseointegration of dental implants placed into extraction sockets. An experimental study in monkeys.

摘要: The aim of the present study was to explore possibility achieving osseointegration dental titanium implants, inserted into alveoli immediately after tooth extraction, by covering recipient site with a teflon membrane. In each 7 monkeys, mucoperiosteal flaps were raised on buccal and palatal aspects maxillary molars in both sides jaw. second then extracted self tapping implants screw type (Astra® Dental Implants) sockets largest roots. coronal portion sockets, void always between implant socket walls. one side jaw, membrane (Gore-;Tex Aug-mentation Material@) adjusted cover implant. other jaw served as control only covered tissue flaps. Microscopic analysis 3 months healing revealed that soft facing varying degree side, while consistently observed top membrane-covered which remained submerged throughout experimental period. results suggest techniaue can secure complete extraction sockets.
