Experimental and numerical analyses of thermal failure of rigid polyurethane foam

摘要: Abstract Heat treatment of rigid polyurethane foam (RPUF) was performed at different temperature. The failure degrees treated RPUF were evaluated by the characterization tensile properties. process and mechanism further analyzed thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). Experimental results showed that untreated maintained optimal strength modulus. After heat high temperature, properties decreased with increase heat-treated temperature due to gradual degradation matrix. Numerical simulation indicated stress concentration in cellular structure model (CSM) constructed according Kerner-Rusch relation gradually intensified In addition, modulus obtained from CSM agreement experimental results. computation error less than 5% average compared data.
