摘要: To evaluate the efficacy of epiretinal membrane removal in patients with good best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) for improving function and quality life (QOL). This prospective case study compared 37 subjects preoperative BCVA ≦ 0.046 logMAR (Good group) to 35 0.10–0.52 (Moderate at 3 6 months. Linear mixed-effect models were used statistical analysis. The primary outcome was horizontal metamorphopsia score (MH) 6 months postoperatively (post-6 M), while secondary outcomes postoperative BCVA, vertical (MV), aniseikonia, stereopsis central foveal thickness. In Good group, QOL assessed using National Eye Institute Visual Functioning Questionnaire-25 (NEI VFQ-25) 6 12 months. MH significantly improved post-3 M post-6 M both groups but there no significant differences between two groups. MV showed improvement final observation either group. LogMAR which had better vision than Moderate Preoperative aniseikonia scores remained unchanged group worsened NEI VFQ-25 reflecting general health, vision, mental health. Early surgery effective HM, prevented worsening aniseikonia. UMIN000021220 . Registered 10 September 2015. UMIN Clinical Trials Registry.
