摘要: Background & objectives: Depression is a highly prevalent and multifactorial psychological disorder. Fat Mass Obesity-Associated (FTO) gene the serum vitamin D level are proposed to be involved in pathophysiology of depression. This study aimed investigate interactions between one FTO single nucleotide polymorphism, depression, overweight adults. Methods: One hundred ninety-seven adults were recruited this cross-sectional study. genotyping was performed by amplification refractory mutation system polymerase chain reaction (ARMS-PCR). severity assessed using Beck's depression inventory (BDI-II). Serum levels measured direct competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method. Results: A-allele carriers had higher score (P = 0.03). Multivariate regression models showed positive association rs9939609 polymorphism no effect on genotype depression. Conclusion: might associated with independent level. Further longitudinal studies needed confirm these results.
