Assessment of left ventricular ejection fraction and volumes by real-time, two-dimensional echocardiography. A comparison of cineangiographic and radionuclide techniques.

摘要: Five different algorithms for determining left ventricular (LV) ejection fraction (EF) and volumes from two-dimensional echocardiographic examination (TDE) were compared with standard methods obtaining EF volume x-ray cineangiography (cine) radionuclide ventriculography (RVG) in 35 patients. Although all correlated positively, the degree of correlation varied algorithm used. For determination, TDE (especially those using multiple planes section) superior to unidimensional commonly used M-mode echocardiography. The best (modified Simpson's rule) well enough cine (r = 0.78; SEE 0.097) RVG 0.75; 0.087) make clinically useful estimates. also meaningfully end-diastolic end-systole 084; n 70) but associated a large error estimate (43 ml) offered less advantage over Quantitative application appears be noninvasive method evaluating LVEF, is not as estimating LV volumes.
