Optical trapping of small particles using a 1.3-μm compact InGaAsP diode laser

摘要: We describe the noncontact optical trapping of small particles by a single-beam gradient force using near-infrared InGaAsP diode laser operating at 1.33 μm. The feasibility and reliability diode-laser was confirmed with polystyrene latex glass spheres as well yeast cells. By moving vertically to beam axis, we measured horizontal component based on Stokes law. Thus linear relationship between power is demonstrated compared quantitatively that for Ar laser.
