摘要: How do American parents respond to the changes involved in becoming a new parent? In this chapter, we consider three main questions: divide responsibilities of daily care for very young child? What different sources use obtain information and advice about parenting? well feel they are handling their parenting responsibilities? All who participated Commonwealth Fund Survey Parents with Young Children had child under age three, so all recently experienced transition being parent. The data from survey offer some only nationally representative on these issues provide picture rearing families today. THE CHALLENGE OF NEW PARENTHOOD parenthood is life-changing event. New suddenly responsible virtually helpless infant, requires feeding, changing, soothing 24 hours day. Caring physically demanding, emotionally intense, continuous; parent therefore both challenging (Antonucci Mikus 1998). Lack sleep alone, part lives parents, often experience them, may affect parents' perceptions how doing roles help or need.
