Predicting Variants of Alternative Splicing from NGS data without the Genome

摘要: Known approaches to determine the gene structure, due alternative splicing (AS), rely on some forms of spliced alignment transcripts against genomic sequence producing transcripts. Anyway, abundance data arising from next-generation sequencing technologies allows a new approach, proposed in this paper, that does not require any kind genome. We formalize underlying computational problem, proving soundness our approach both theoretical and experimental point view.
