摘要: Objective To confirm that performance in verbal learning and memory test (Rey's Auditory Verbal Learning Test-RAVLT) is a helpful early neuropsychological marker of dementia Alzheimer's type (DAT). Methods RAVLT was administered as part more extensive battery at baseline evaluation 116 unselected patients referred by subjective complaints (SMC). Patients were followed longitudinally for 2 years (average interval 27.7±4 months). Seventy included the study: 27 developed probable DAT; 17 diagnosed cognitively normal persons 26 with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). Remaining abandoned or they did not meet criteria DAT, MCI control. Performance on RAVLT compared between groups. Results Patients two later DAT showed lower results, frequently performed score zero delayed recall (Trial 6) had percentage forgetting (difference Trials 5 higher than 75%. Score correlated functional scales such MMSE, Geriatric Depression Screening, Informant Questionnaire Blessed's Dementia Rating. Conclusions RAVLT could help to identify those SMC who would progress over few years, also differentiate preclinical phase disease, mild cognitive impairment aging. A ≥75% suggestive future.
