摘要: Photoelectron spectroscopy experiments are performed on a metallocarbohedrene, Ti8C12-, to obtain electronic structure information. The Ti8C12- anion is produced by laser vaporization of titanium carbide target. spectra consist an intense threshold feature and two weaker features followed gap more higher energy features. electron affinity Ti8C12 found be 1.05 (±0.05) (adiabatic) 1.16 eV (vertical). surprisingly low the observed interpreted using theoretical current provide hitherto most direct spectroscopic information Met-Car Ti8C12.
