摘要: LANL has developed a new vane loaded waveguide RF structure for sheet electron beam traveling wave tube (TWT). The goal was to create class of wideband structures that allow simple mechanical fabrication and have geometry suitable interaction with beams. We concentrated on at 94 GHz. achieved 6% bandwidth believe 10% is possible. performed 3D electromagnetic simulations using the codes Microwave Studio HFSS, fabricated several aluminium cold models 10GHz confirm design. Agreement between 10 GHz test data computer excellent. An 94GHz electrical discharge machining (EDM) 0.004 inch wire tested.
