摘要: South Asia is one of the most flood vulnerable regions in world. Floods occur often region triggered by heavy monsoon precipitation and can cause enormous damages to lives, property, crops infrastructure. The frequency extreme floods on rise Bangladesh, India Pakistan. Past fall within range climate variability but frequency, magnitude extent flooding may increase future due change. Flood risk sensitive different levels warming. For example, analysis shows that expected changes depth would between 0 2°C three major rivers Ganges, Brahmaputra Meghna/Barak will play similar roles regimes as they are doing presently. Increases extensive damage rice monsoon. This have implications for food security especially poor women children. also impact public health plains coastal areas.
