Use of complementary/alternative therapies by women with advanced-stage breast cancer

摘要: This study sought to describe the pattern of complementary/alternative medicine (CAM) use among a group patients with advanced breast cancer, examine main reasons for their CAM use, identify patient's information sources and communication physicians. Face-to-face structured interviews advanced-stage cancer at comprehensive oncology center. Seventy three percent used CAM; relaxation/meditative techniques herbal were most common. The commonly cited primary reason was boost immune system, second, treat cancer; however these varied depending on specific therapy. Friends or family members mass media common source's about CAM. A high proportion Discussion doctors ingested products. Mass prominent source patient information. Credible physicians are needed.
