Design, construction, performance evaluation and economic analysis of an integrated collector storage system

摘要: The design and construction of an Integrated Collector Storage (ICS) system is presented in this paper. main advantage that such a collector presents, with respect to conventional flat-plate collectors, the fact it very low profile. disadvantage these collectors comes from system, i.e. receiver being also storage vessel, not possible insulate properly there are significant heat losses during night. System modelling optimisation carried out by use computer code written for purpose. Performance results good agreement predicted results, especially end-of-day temperature which within 5.1%. initial cost here 13% cheaper than corresponding (FP) same aperture area volume. Additionally, economic analysis two systems, performed F-Chart program, showed yearly F-value 0.85 ICS compared 0.83 FP pay-back period nine years 11 life cycle saving C£330 C£201 system.
