摘要: Abstract The abrasive wear behaviour of laser metal deposited Fe–28Cr-2.7C alloy with subsequent heat treatments has been investigated. Two were applied: (HT1) 1200 °C for 4 h then air cooled to room temperature, followed by 960 °C cooled, and (HT2) cooled. resistance the HT1 condition was significantly higher than that HT2 condition. However, performance both inferior their cast counterpart, despite having similar composition, phases (eutectic M7C3, martensite, secondary carbide precipitates), hardness (719–738 HV). samples consisted a refined structure due increase in nucleation suppression growth because fast solidification rates during deposition process. It found volume loss increased decreasing size mean free path between M7C3 carbides. This sub-micron globular shaped carbides produced process being easily fractured or scooped off plastic deformation caused abrasives.
