摘要: This thesis aimed to examine men’s constructions of Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) and premenstrual women, explore how impact upon their responses partner premenstrually. also determine what a man’s involvement in couple-based PMS intervention would have on such responses. Two qualitative studies were conducted, which accounts change examined. In the first study, online posts from website PMSbuddy.com collected analysed using thematic discourse analysis. Results this study showed that majority men positioned as having detrimental themselves, intimate relationship. Most constructed phase women’s changes confusing, complicated illogical. To make sense change, drew cultural discourses disorder necessitating treatment women mad, bad dangerous. Although some natural experience acknowledged importance being empathetic supportive premenstrually, instances scarce. second Foucauldian analysis was used analyse in-depth interviews conducted with 12 male partners prior to, following, participation psychological for moderate-severe distress.
