摘要: Abstract In this paper we present a formal model of distributed building inspired by wasp colonies. We characterize set stigmergic algorithms that allow swarm simple agents to build coherent nest-like structures. The constitute the builders move randomly on 3D lattice and can deposit elementary bricks. do not communicate, have no global representation architecture they are building, possess any plan or blueprint only perceive local configuration matter surrounding them. Only few these configurations stimulating, is, trigger action. aim is prove an accurate how wasps behave, but rather show (i) such behavioural produce biological-like architectures, (ii) if be generated with algorithms, require specific “coordination” properties, (iii) finally possessing properties in turn very specific, architectures. effect, found empirical one correspondence between architectures “coordinated algorithms”. Coordinated rely partition shape built into modular subshapes; given architecture, has decomposed finite number of?!building steps, necessary condition stimulating created at stage differ from those previous forthcoming so as avoid disorganization whole activity. Moreover, shapes non-coordinated for instance when corresponding subshapes overlap may subsequently affect overall process, unstable, same rule table will dissimilar different stimulations. Finally, under conditions were resemble known biological architecture. believe our study constitutes first step towards deeper understanding origins natural terms logical constraints affected evolutionary path.
