Summary: Resume: Zusammenfassung Effects of Elymus repens (L.) Gould competition on yield winter rye (Secale cereale L.), wheat (Triticum aestivum spring barley (Hordeum vulgare peas (Pisum sativum and oilseed rape (Brassica napus L.) were studied in field trials conducted the same location through 3 years. The competitiveness five crops against E. could be ranked as follows, with most competitive crop mentioned first: wheat, rape, peas. Yield losses ranged from 8% to around 35% at a density level 100 primary shoots m−2 spring. different prevailing climatic conditions growing seasons had no effect yield-density relationships rye, peas, barley, whereas significant interactions found rape. cumulative emergence patternsof described spring-sown crops, models derived simulate sensitivity parameters actual time shoot recording. importance choosing right for counts relation threshold recommendations other aspects is discussed.
