摘要: The cognitive correlates of anger arousal and dating violence were investigated in samples 17 males who reported at least one incident physical aggression toward a female partner (DV), 16 nonviolent interaction history with their partners (NV). Participants performed the Articulated Thoughts during Simulated Situations (ATSS) paradigm while listening to anger-arousing audiotapes. Trained raters coded participants’ thought articulations for irrational beliefs, biases, hostile attributional control statements. Results indicated that DV men articulated significantly more thoughts but fewer statements, than NV ATSS arousal. Logistic regression analyses specific variables (high Arbitrary Inference, high Demandingness, low Anger Control) discriminated between groups. However, violent‐nonviolent differences observed on paper-andpencil measures distortion. These data suggest assessment processing among violent individuals may be optimized if these cognitions are assessed concurrent findings interpreted context social learning information theories violence.
