摘要: Here, we report the first detection of a Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase 2 (KPC-2)-producing strain belonging to sequence type 833 (ST833), collected in an Italian hospital from patient coming South America. Its blaKPC determinant was carried by ColE1 plasmid, pKBuS13, that showed Tn4401b::blaKPC-2 transposon inserted into regulatory region Xer site-specific recombination locus. This interfered with correct resolution plasmid multimers monomers, lowering stability and leading overestimation number plasmids harbored single host cell. Sequencing fragments adjacent Tn4401b detected did not have significant matches databases other than genome carbapenem-resistant Escherichia coli during same year at Boston. is interesting epidemiologic context, as it suggests despite absence tra genes instability under nonselective conditions, circulation pKBuS13 or analogous might be wider reported.
