Polidocanol is a sclerosing solution that highly valued by clinicians and patients for its painlessness, high efficacy, excellent safety profile, low incidence of side effects, the rarity allergic reactions. Previous estimates reactions have ranged from 0 to 0.06%. objective. Improved recognition systemic allergy polidocanol desirable both patients. We attempted describe two cases recently observed in our population provide an improved upper-bounds estimate true polidocanol. results. report recent mild reaction 689 exposed patients, 0.3% patient population. calculated 95% confidence upper-bound 0.91% general population. conclusion. Allergy may be more common than previously recognized. Careful questioning treated prolonged observation after treatment yield larger number recognized cases.
