摘要: In the context of multiple forest management, multipurpose tree species which provide both timber and non-timber products (NTFP), present particular challenges as potential conflicting use for either product may be high. One key aspect is that magnitude conflict can location specific, thus adding complexity to policy development. This paper focuses on extent in varies across Amazonian lowland forests shared by Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador Venezuela, emphasizing economic dimension conflict. Based a review current normative regulatory aspects NTFP extraction five countries, also briefly discusses opportunities constraints harmonization management region. It was found about half 336 reviewed countries have uses. Eleven are all countries: Calophyllum brasiliense, Cedrela odorata, Ceiba pentandra, Clarisia racemosa, Ficus insipida, Jacaranda copaia, Schefflera morototoni, Simarouba amara Terminalia amazonia. Seven other occurred only Venezuela (Tabebuia impetiginosa, Spondias mombin, Pentaclethra macroloba, Copaifera officinalis, Chlorophora tinctoria, Carapa guianensis) or chrysantha). Four presented highest region: Dipteryx Tabebuia serratifolia, Hymenaea courbaril Myroxylon balsamum yet these were not evenly distributed countries. None studied specific legislation promote sustainable any reported here mitigate use; nor documented options integration else segregation their values.
