Deep red diode-pumped Pr^3+:KY_3F_10 continuous-wave laser

摘要: We report the first observation of continuous-wave laser emission at 720 nm, in deep red region, a Pr3+:KY3F10 (Pr:KYF) single crystal, pumped with blue InGaN-based diode 446 nm. employed hemispherical cavity three different output coupling mirrors transmitting 0.7%, 1.4%, and 2.7% radiation. obtained maximum power 207 mW slope efficiency 24.3%, comparable for time to what has been reported other praseodymium-doped fluoride crystals. The round-trip losses our sample were estimated be between 0.3% 0.6%, remarkably small value this material.
