摘要: Electroviscosity is defined in this introductory paper as an essentially instantaneous reversible change apparent viscosity when a fluid subjected to externally applied electric field. The electroviscous properties of silica and calcium titanate dispersions are typical most systems were found be function many parameters such composition, shear rate, field strength, frequency, temperature. When only one parameter varied, effects increase with increasing volume fraction disperse phase, temperature, but decrease rate frequency. Electroviscosities proportional the square strength inversely first power rate. Induced interfacial polarization on near particle surface resulting interactions between polarized double layers, layers particles used explain phenomenon.
