摘要: Although the concept of remission has been widely accepted and utilized in depression anxiety disorders, there much less emphasis on defining schizophrenia. Recently, an expert consensus definition schizophrenia was proposed along specific operational criteria for attainment focusing three core dimensions psychopathology identified within schizophrenia: psychoticism, disorganization negative symptoms. To date, have applied retrospectively to several clinical studies, these demonstrated that correlates significantly with established measures symptom severity, functioning quality life, appears achievable a significant proportion patients receiving at least 3 months pharmacotherapy. In this article we extend notion include examination possible association modifiable unmodifiable factors co-morbidities status. We also propose investigation into likelihood different patient populations achieving as well assessing impact health care costs family burden. Since cognitive dysfunction symptoms may be strongly correlated lower remission, recommend retrospective and/or prospective studies determine relationship between neurocognitive status predominance treatment start probability remission. Taken together, should help identify key predictors further define remitted state, reduce therapeutic pessimism, raise expectations chart strategy research important area.
