Re‐evaluation of Evans blue dye dilution method of plasma volume measurement

摘要: Summary To simplify the method of plasma volume measurement by Evans blue dye dilution we used, for first time, same venous site injection and collection samples. In a series 49 studies decay between 10 35 min after was highly linear (r = 0.991 ± 0.01), indicating that contamination samples is very unlikely. We repeated measurements eight weeks in nine patients; mean difference 16.4±19.6 ml, high degree reproducibility. found extrapolation curve to time zero required accurate estimates volume. There good agreement obtained from only three taken at 10, 20 30 with results using all six also standard curves constructed four dilutions 1.25, 2.5, 5 mg/l those use blank one mg/l. therefore conclude technique can be simplified minimal loss accuracy, withdrawal, withdrawing two point calibration line.
