摘要: Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ) techniques are largely used in the context of wireless communications systems especially last few years, being employed latest cellular systems, including Long Term Evolution (LTE) standard. Such schemes have been widely studied literature; however, this paper we interested applying results Polyanskiy-Poor-Verdu on finite block-length regime, comparing performance Type-I and Type-II HARQ green communication, i.e., a scenario which energy efficiency is key indicator. A prominent example Machine-to-Machine (M2M) foreseen to play fundamental role as an enabler Internet Things (IoT) paradigm. We derive novel, optimal, power allocation strategy provide simulation showing that minimum 40% saving can be achieved if enable packet combining at receiver side.
