Robust edge detection

摘要: Edge detection is an important issue in computer vision and image understanding systems. Most conventional techniques have assumed Gaussian noise, their performance could decrease with the departure of noise distribution from normality. In this paper, we present edge approach using robust statistics. The structure first detected by a one-way design model, then localized contrast test. Finally, hysteresis thresholding applied to yield output map. To evaluate its performance, experiments were carried out on synthetic real images corrupted both mixture impulsive noise. results show that proposed detector stable reliable under severe conditions.
