摘要: The types of social organisation displayed by the African antelope species have been assigned in this paper to five classes, distinguished largely strategies used reproductively active males securing mating rights, and effects those on other castes. attempts show that these are appropriate each class because other, ecological, aspects their ways life. describes different feeding styles among antelope, terms selection food items coverage home ranges. It argues bear a relationship maximum group size animals through influence dispersion upon cohesion. also body habitat choice, both which species' antipredator behaviour. Thus style is related anti-predator behaviour which, many species, influences minimum size. Group pattern movement over annual range affect likelihood females being found given place at time, it large extent, determines kind strategy male must employ achieve rights. employed can be seen such biology as sexual dimorphism, adult sex ratio, differential distribution sexes.
