摘要: Live specimens of the American blue crabCallinectes sapidus Rathbun, 1896 (Crustacea: Decapoda: Brachyura) were found in German North Sea estuaries Elbe and Weser 1964, ca. 1965, 1990, 1998 2007. Due to these infrequent records potentially invasiveC. is considered a non established alien species waters until now. Climate warming might facilitate establishment, increasing stocks subsequent spread crabs European waters. An early detection essential for taking rapid measures at earliest stage establishment or spread. ‘First finders’ such as fishermen should be integrated key-component an warning system observation concept. To verify new species, proper documentation finding, specimen identification by reliable taxonomists depositing confirmed voucher are essential.
