摘要: Ensuring sustainability of earth systems is intrinsically dependent on the incorporation equity and fairness in regimes institutions that govern global economy. Accordingly, to design effective just system governance (ESG), it crucial understand how economic affects access allocation environmental benefits burdens among people countries around world what are relevant causal mechanisms. By focusing trade investment as two predominant elements today’s system, this paper reviews literature developed within ESG project 2008–2017 explore relationships between burdens. Our review shows scholarship has begun highlight dynamics unfair deriving from ranging direct impacts inequality socioeconomic opportunities indirect implications certification schemes, decision-making processes environmentally motivated restrictions international regimes. However, also notes critical questions about identity vulnerable groups potential pathways for more equitable sharing remain understudied by scholars. Hence, we call analysis role perpetuating unsustainable patterns ESG, well research local allocation.
