摘要: This paper describes a study of the shear strength S, indentation hardness or yield pressure P and coefficient friction μ polythene, P.T.F.E., Kel-F Perspex over temperature range from -100°C up to +80°C. In contrast metals, plastics show large changes in their properties used, confusing effect surface films on has been eliminated. According adhesion theory is approximately equal S/P. these experiments it found that varies closely with ratio S/P, but quantitative agreement good only polythene. With observed values are consistently larger than while P.T.F.E. considerably lower. It concluded can explain behaviour examined, apparent discrepancies being due enhanced junctions under high localized pressures existing at interface (Perspex Kel-F) structural factors which give low intrinsic sliding (P.T.F.E.).
